In 2008 Chicago signed a 75 year lease with a bank to run all the parking meters in Chicago. The results were terrible.

Ferries are essential to British Columbia, but are a good example of car subsidies.

Build it and they will come. That will suck if it happens to involve cars. It's great if it involves transit.
